Hi, Everyone.
Welcome to my website. My name is Carol and I am a web junkie.
(Is there a twelve step program for that?) I love fooling around with my
computer. There is just so much to learn and so little time.
INTERESTS:
But I do have other interest. In fact, I'm a perpetual
student. My interest tend to change with the seasons. I lean heavily
towards music. Thanks to a great start with early piano lessons from Sr.
Regina, I was fortunate enough to have studied at the Philadelphia
Conservatory of Music in High School and attend Our Lady of Angels College (now
Neumann College where I currently happen to be employed), Immaculata College and
later, West Chester University as a music major. The music playing in the
background is
a Brahms Rhapsody in G minor, OPus
79. This is a piece I studied at
the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music many years ago under the instruction of
Jon Carlin. We would sit at side by side grand pianos and he would play
anything I was working on with no music in front of him. He had an
unimaginable talent. I love working with him.
I love to listen to almost
any kind of music. And if you see me driving along the highway, you will more
than likely catch me belting out a song, singing along with my Ipod.
Don't be frightened!! I just love music.
I am a member of my church choir and we went to Rome in the Spring
of '02 to sing for Pope John Paul II. It was a very exciting trip. Pictures of the trip are
posted on the Rome page
above. We returned to Rome in the spring of '06 for a return engagement.
We sang at Mass for the 500th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of
St. Peter's Basilica, then we sang the next day at the audience with Pope
Benedict XVI, we gave a concert for the city of Trevi and on our final night, a
concert for the city of Rome that was attended by over 700 people. It was really
exciting. Watch for pictures soon under the Rome 2006 link.
FAMILY:
My husband, Richard and I
were high school sweethearts and have been married for 42 years in June. He is truly my soul mate.
We live in North Wilmington in the tiny state of Delaware, USA. We have
two exceptionally wonderful sons, Mart (short for Martin) and Jort
(short for Jordan)
who have given us two delightful daughters-in-law,
Madeline and Judy, who have given us two extremely
gifted grandchildren,
RJ
and Rachael. They
are the cutest!!
WEDDING:
In 1999, we renewed our wedding vows and had that long put off church
wedding I've always dreamed of having. We brought together a small
group of friends and family who have been with us through thick and thin,
booked the country club, the DJ, and rocked to the music of the
"60's". Actually, I guess we boogied. I don't think
we rocked until the "70's" Anyway, what fun! Pictures are on the
Wedding
link above.
COOKING: I have an intense
interest in cooking, although not on a daily basis!
Pul-eezze!! I attended the Restaurant School in
Philadelphia in the 80's and later owned a real Italian Deli in Pennsylvania. Then, for a number of years I was
involved with a cooking school run by Pat Tabibian, a local renowned
cooking instructor, where I was fortunate enough to sous chef
for some celebrity chefs. You'll see pictures on
my
Cooking
page along with some of my favorite recipes.
(Cooking page is now under re-construction and will be back soon with new
recipes.)
ARIZONA/RETIREMENT:
Dick and I just got back from a trip to Arizona, our favorite place on
earth. We visited in 1980 and in 1983. In '83 we decided we wanted
to
retire there some day so we went out looking for land. We picked out our
acre, but since retirement was so far away, we chickened out. However, we
always said that someday we'd retire there. Well, we visited Arizona three
times in 2004 and we finally found a house that we love that we will
retire to in a couple years. Visit our
Arizona page
for pictures. We recently had a visit to our Arizona from some dear friends and we were
finally able to let someone see our new home. It was really
fun to show it off at last and to show someone around town. I
hope we'll get lots of visitors. We will miss our family and
friends so very much.
I just completed a
watercolor class with a wonderful
local
teacher, Jean Ryan.
Here is my very first watercolor which we used for our Christmas cards last
Christmas. It's looks kind of 5th grade-ish, but I hope to improve over
time. Who knows? Maybe this is how KinKade started.

Of course, it would have a
Southwestern theme!
My other interests are watercolors, genealogy, needlework, photography, and travel,
especially to
Ireland, England,
Italy, Greece, Monte Carlo, Paris and any other countries abroad.
On this site you will see pages that reflect my interests. I hope to
update the site frequently so drop in every now and then and let me know
what you think by signing my guest book. So, go ahead, click away and enjoy
your visit. The links are listed above.

Our son, Jordan,
was deployed with the US Army Reserves in March ('03) to help defend our
right to live in a free country. Please remember him in your
prayers.
Visit his link above to
find out what he's up to.
2007 Update:
Jordan has been promoted to
Staff Sergeant Kane. He continues to climb the Army ladder and is as
committed to doing his job as ever. God bless America. And
thank Heavens for people like Jordan who are committed to protecting our
country.
2006 Update:
Jordan remains active in
the military and is committed to keeping America safe. He just
completed Warrior Leader training with Superior grades. We are very
proud of his dedication. He has been told that he will probably be
deployed again next year. His job is transporting fuel. With
all the road bombs in Iraq it has me pretty tense. Please keep him
in your prayers.
2004 UPDATE:
Jordan came home after much delay, on New Year's Eve day, 2004. God is
good. What a way to start a New Year. We are all on cloud
nine. Thank you all for your prayers and emails that you wrote him,
and packages that you sent him. He is very grateful to you all for
keeping him up on things at home. You all helped fill the lonely
hours of our soldier. We spent the last week catching up and
listening to his stories of his first trip abroad. We are just so
darned grateful to have him home. Thank you for your support through
the past year.
God Bless You All, and God Bless America.

My Credo
As
we grow up, we learn that even the one person
that wasn't supposed to ever let you down
probably will. You will have your heart broken
probably more than once and it's harder every
time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it
felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with
your best friend. You'll blame a new love for
things an old one did. You'll cry because time is
passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose
someone you love. So take too many pictures,
laugh too much, and love like you've never been
hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset
is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

My best to you, always.
Carol
